- A character trait that plays an important role in Jeff's friends that adds to my understanding of Jeff is patience because, Jeff had to be patient telling his story over and over and, bravery.
- I think that the setting is so important in the story because, if you don't know where the story takes place you wouldn't know what side he was on.
- Jeff's new enemy is Captain Asa Clardy. He could of prevented it by changing his name.

Type and shadow
I was reading a book called Latter Day Spies and, it is a type and shadow of the Nephites escaping the drunk slaves of the king because, the three friends were trapped inside the castle and the bad guys were going to go get beer. One of the servants forgot to lock Sadie's door. When the bad guys got back they got drunk and they escaped. It is a really good book. I also finished Black Beauty.

Chapter 5
pg 53 Chapter 5. There will be other battles my little warrior. But not yet. Not until you are ready.
The main characters are the two queens, Daisytail and Oakleaf. They feel that really small kits are not big enough to fight full grown warriors.
In chapter 5 the conflict is character VS. character because the queens were fighting because they thought there kits were to young to fight. The queens jumped from behind a rock and yelled stop! We are stopping this battle because some of these kits are barely weaned from their mothers milk. they had a meeting that night and the code " a cat must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice was made.

chapter conflicts
In chapter 1 the conflict does not have anything to do with survival because it is just that you can't have kits with cats from other clans. In chapter 2 it is a little more serious with survival because if you hunt on WindClan territory but, you are from ShadowClan then WindClan would run out of food and die. In chapter 3 it is still pretty serious because if you don't feed elders first they might die and, the elders teach you a lot because they have been alive a long time and learned it from their elders. If you don't feed kits they won't grow up to be warriors. Chapter 4 is really serious because if you play with your food you won't be able to eat it and you will run out of pray. Chapter 5 is really serious too because if you put little untrained kits in battle they will die and your clan will run out of warriors.

Conflict
I think the main conflict in Where the Red Fern Grows is character VS. nature because they're always trying to catch a coon. There is also some character VS. self because he had to push himself to get enough money for dogs.
I think the tone and mood in Warriors is edgy, and exciting.

Erin Hunter
Code of the Clans
pg. 45
Prey is killed only to be eaten.
Give thanks to StarClan for it's life.
sentence: He'd scratch out those scrawny WindClan cats eyes, he'd chase the fat RiverClan cats until their legs fell off, he'd creep up on the ThunderClan cats and claw their ears... Driftkit! what in the name of StarClan are you doing to that mouse!
The round character is Driftkit. The flat character is the cat who yells at Driftkit. Driftkit is playful and wants to become a warrior and fight. I can tell he is either from ShadowClan or SkyClan because he wants to attack the other clans. Another thing is that he was dreaming of fighting but then got in trouble for playing with his mouse. The reason they made the codeis because Driftkit played with his mouse and it got stale and he couldn't eat it. Then an eagle came and stole it. P.S. what is type and shadow? Can you explain it?
Vocabulary: Tone pg. 46 definition:any sound considered with reference to it's quality, pitch strength, source E.T.C shrill tones.

Confllict
Some of the conflicts in this story are training kits to be warriors, following the code, and fighting for your clan. Most of the conflicts point to the code being made. Like in chapter 6 the conflict is getting warriors to stop messing around. That leads to the code: Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
