conflict

In chapter 1 the conflict is character VS. society.   In chapter 2 I think the conflict is character VS. god because StarClan made the branch fall.  In chapter 3 I think the conflict is character VS. character because some of the cats are fighting.  In chapter 4 I think it is character VS. nature because the eagle is part of nature.  I tried to type this in at my grandmas a while ago but it didn't work.  Thanks for the typewriter story.  I finished Where the Red Fern Grows but since I am reading Warriors slow and posting on it I am not finished.

  1. Greetings; Was it fun to discover how the different conflicts show different parts of the main character's personality? What conflict did you find most in Red Fern?

    We have covered
    1.Setting - Time and Place,
    2.Character with SEAT plus physical
    3.Conflict - Character vs __

    Now for number four.
    4. Tone or Mood: I understand you play piano extremely well, then you will understand this quite easily. Tone or mood in reading is much like tone or mood in music. Some pieces are lighthearted and happy while others are thoughtful and quiet, and still others are haunting and edgy; and so it is with books.
Red Fern - Loving, kind and sad.
The Hatchet - Scary. edgy and finally at ease.
Holes - Thoughtful, unnerving and finally satisfaction. You will see that in each chapter, like each section in music, the tone/mood will change to some degree in order to build plot. And next we will talk about plot.
Have a great day. Tomorrow, I will be in Weiser moving my daughter, so I will check in again on Wednesday.

    Feast on good words.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Albert
